Information on Border Collie Health

You want a long and healthy life for your border collie.  Regular vet checks, up to date preventatives and general observations will keep you on the right track.  Border Collies, in general, are considered a healthy breed.  Of course, that is affected by where you get your BC.  There are irresponsible breeders for every breed so do your research if you are going that route.

Of course, we would recommend rescuing your next BC.  Though we often do not know all the history of the dogs in our care, we know about them from the vet checks we provide and from living with them day to day.  We know they are up to date on their shots and their attitudes.

Below are some links for you to check out to help in your research!  Once again, it's important that you know MABCR does not endorse these sites in any way- they are provided for informational use only. Happy learning.

You can help rescued Border Collies immediately by making a tax deductible donation to Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue (MABCR) through PayPal. All donations to Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue go towards caring for rescued Border Collies! You can direct your donation to the Fearing-Lowder Medical Fund or to our general fund. Donations of any size are gratefully accepted.
